First Launch

The first time you start VoiceATC Simulator, the game performs a one-time voice setup. Speech recognition, command understanding, and pilot voices run locally on your computer, so the simulator checks your hardware and chooses suitable settings before you play.

During setup, the loading screen shows Verifying voice features…. This can take a little while the first time. Afterwards, the result is remembered and later launches are much faster.

Voice features need this setup, but the mouse controls remain available even if voice is turned off. If your computer has a dedicated graphics card, local AI features will generally run faster.

After startup, the main menu is the home base for the simulator:

The main menu also shows navigation-data status, version information, community links, bug-report links, credits, and legal information.
