First Launch
The first time you start VoiceATC Simulator, the game performs a one-time voice setup. Speech recognition, command understanding, and pilot voices run locally on your computer, so the simulator checks your hardware and chooses suitable settings before you play.
Verifying voice features
Section titled “Verifying voice features”During setup, the loading screen shows Verifying voice features…. This can take a little while the first time. Afterwards, the result is remembered and later launches are much faster.
What still works without voice
Section titled “What still works without voice”Voice features need this setup, but the mouse controls remain available even if voice is turned off. If your computer has a dedicated graphics card, local AI features will generally run faster.
Main menu
Section titled “Main menu”After startup, the main menu is the home base for the simulator:
| Menu item | Purpose |
|---|---|
| New Session | Set up and start a fresh game. |
| Load Session | Resume a saved game. |
| Tutorials | Open guided lessons. |
| Settings | Change display, audio, voice, privacy, colors, and controls. |
| Mods | Open the community project on GitHub. |
